The Best of 2017

A quick look at our favourite places to eat in 2017...be sure to check out the Londonlicious website to find out about some great deals happening in January.

No. 5
Chinese Noodle, 530 Oxford St. W. London, ON

A great little noodle restaurant in the heart of London's own China village.  With great prices and hearty portions, I recommend Chinese Noodle for lunch or dinner.  It's a great place to go solo or with a friend--note: I said "a" friend...the restaurant is tiny and busy.

No. 4
Craft Farmacy, 449 Wharncliffe Rd. London, ON

The newcomer to the London scene, Craft Farmacy puts on a good dinner.  While the food itself is well-priced, drinks are a bit on the high end.  Otherwise, you're looking at a great new place to try with an extensive craft beer menu.  Oh, and there's the whole raw oyster bar thing, if you want to try that.

No. 3
Garlic's of London, 481 Richmond St. London, ON

Okay, so I'm cheating.  We didn't make it out to Garlic's in 2017.  But I've been to Garlic's a lot--this is my go-to spot for dinner with friends, grabbing a bite before going to The Grand, or a dinner without the kids. The menu changes with the season, as do the specials, and the service and the quality is always top-notch.  I would also put David's Bistro in this slot, but David's has been closed for renos for the past nine months.

No. 2
Mai's Cafe and Bistro, 142 Wortley Rd. London, ON

Consistently excellent, Mai's Cafe and Bistro is a great place for eat-in or take-out Thai food.  There's usually lots of room for lunch, but you will want to make a reservation for dinner as it gets busy fast.   They do not serve alcohol and they close at 8 pm so plan your night accordingly. Our favorite dishes: coconut shrimp, drunken noodles, green curry with chicken, mango salad, and pad Thai.

No. 1
Blackfriars Bistro, 46 Blackfriars St. London, ON

I still haven't written-up the Friday Night Dinner Club review, but this was by far the best meal of the year.  With incredible service, Beef Wellington, and competing desserts (spoilers--one of the FNDC ordered TWO desserts), Blackfriars Bistro is London's best (not-so) little secret.
